Later Pat transitioned from counselling to conflict management following her training as a court-appointed mediator. For five years she provided mediation services for family courts.
Currently she provides corporate training, interventions, and coaching in conflict management. Her academic studies are toward a PhD in Professional Communication, focused on specific interventions. In addition, she teaches the Canadian Institution for Conflict Resolution (CICR) Certificate program for the University of New Brunswick’s College of Extended Learning.
Pat’s most recent passion is her work as a restorative opportunities mediator, working with victims and offenders of serious crime. This is a voluntary process facilitated by community mediators for victims and offenders to engage in forms of restorative communication. She feels it is a privilege to be involved in this work and sees restorative practices becoming woven into the fabric of all relationships.
