Brian Strom spent the first 24 years of his working life with Farm Credit Canada (FCC) including 8 years as Vice President of the Manitoba Region and 8 years as Senior Vice President of Operations in Ottawa, the latter of which involved directing six regions across Canada, 600 employees and a $4 billion loan portfolio. From 1993 to 2005, he managed his own consulting company specializing in facilitation, and mediation, including designing and delivering skills-based training in both of these fields.

For the past 6 years, Brian has been the Executive Director of the Canadian Institute for Conflict Resolution (CICR). The 23 year old Institute develops and delivers training and intervention services in community-based conflict resolution, developing participants’ capacities as third party neutrals, both domestically and internationally. In 2010, he chaired the Accreditation Board in the pilot process for accrediting peace professionals on behalf of the Civilian Peace Service Canada.

Brian holds a BSc. in Agriculture Economics, is a graduate of CICR’s 160 hour Third Party Neutral training, and an Honoured Fellow with the Institute.
